USB normally gets infected with virus. After cleaning all those rubbish from your removeable device and would like to get back your data which is hidden. Tried to go to the properties and uncheck hidden files, but still doesn't work. Try this simple command on the Dos Prompt

x:\>attrib -r -h -s /s /d

where the x is the drive letter.
